Today, with guides A Jin and Yang Qiao and their precious Shu Sha, we came to a hidden stream at the foot of Cangshan to dig for gemstones. Our good child just arrived in Dali and is acclimating poorly, feeling a bit unwell, but couldn't bear to miss the joy of treasure hunting by the stream. Amidst the sound of the stream, a heavy rain suddenly started, and the entire Cangshan was shrouded in mist. Listening to the rain in the wilderness was an unexpected and delightful experience today.

I'm so happy to have met the super knowledgeable hiking guide Ajin, who knows plants and draws incredibly well; Ashan, who taught us to paint stones while carrying her second baby; and Shusha, who loves freedom and enjoys eating golden buckwheat. I brought two kids, the youngest only 2 years old with limited stamina. I refreshed the mini-program for days and finally snagged the first "gem painting" activity of the year the night before. The hiking route wasn't too difficult and was short, very kid-friendly. We live in a city full of high-rises. For the first time, the kids truly stepped into the pristine streams at the foot of Cangshan, getting close to nature, learning about nature, and feeling nature. I love this activity and am so glad to have met two big friends and one little friend. Through the ages and across the seas, our future is vast—we have plenty of time ahead!

Cangshan Hiking Home gave me a feeling I haven't had in a long time. It's like the first time I used Airbnb over a decade ago, staying with a family from a completely different cultural background and living with them. Now that I have a family, I increasingly seek certainty. But occasionally, I still miss life experiences strung together by 'people' rather than SOPs. Every experience at Cangshan Hiking Home is sincere and human. For families with kids, I especially recommend 'Painting Stones and Playing in Water with Shusha.' Letting children roam freely between heaven and earth is the most beautiful picture. In an increasingly commercialized Dali, Cangshan Hiking Home might be the reason to come to Dali next time.

Painting on Stones The kid picked this activity at first sight, and both adults and children had a great time. The little one was very excited the whole time, painting unique symbols on the stones they found and treasuring them as precious keepsakes. This activity is perfect for friends who love painting and nature. The guide was also very attentive, taking good care of both the elderly and the children. A very meaningful activity experience.

Mountain Stream Stone Painting Treasure hunting in the folds of Cangshan, squatting by the cool stream to pick stones. The bluish-gray and moon-white pebbles, polished by the water, become natural canvases. A cloud, a flower, or just mottled patches of color—all are colorful childhood memories. The mountains, streams, and rivers remember every stroke of innocence. Thank you to the guides and teachers for taking the kids to learn about field plants, creating painting works, taking beautiful photos, and preparing abundant food.

Guide A Jin was very attentive, took care of the kids, and shared knowledge. The kids happily played in the water, picked up stones, drew, built stone towers and dams, and raced boats with the leftover watermelon rinds. A few hours were not enough; they said it was the best activity in Dali.

A natural biology class Arrived at the meeting point at the foot of Cangshan at 15:30. The guide was named Ajin, an outdoor veteran, neat and efficient in his gear. Along the way, he introduced various plants, including the jointed grass that can be broken and reconnected, and left green fern imprints on my black jacket. ~~ When we reached the stream, he started guiding the children to select stones, paint, and paste them into picture frames. Midway, the guide even pulled out prepared tea, fruit, and snacks from his backpack. At 19:20, we began descending the mountain, and on the way, we saw Erhai Lake under the sunset glow!

Yesterday's activity of picking stones by the stream and painting them was totally worth it! It was a beautiful and healing activity! The two children chose to pick stones and paint with Shusha among many activities. It turns out fate is wonderful. The two guides were very serious and dedicated, teaching the children how to choose stones and inspiring them to pick elements they like to paint, rather than just imitating. And lovely Shusha, the three kids played in the water, picked stones, chatted, and shared together. Ajin also used painting to record the children's childish words along the way, very thoughtful!! Highly recommend to everyone!

That day, my son had an upset stomach. He had a stomachache in the middle of the night and felt nauseous in the morning, so he wasn't in good spirits. He managed to paint a cactus and did half of the leaf rubbing. Later, it started drizzling by the stream. My son wore his raincoat and fell asleep on my lap. On the way back, the guide Jingshan carried both big bags while I carried my son. Jingshan is a gentle and tough girl. She helped us buy medicine and took us to a restaurant. Looking forward to foraging wild mushrooms in Cangshan next time. I didn't even get a chance to take a photo with Jingshan.

Dali Fun: For kids who love nature and drawing, we hiked through villages and fields, into the mountains, crossing streams and picking our favorite pebbles. Sitting by the stream in the sunshine, we calmly painted on the stones, spending a pleasant evening. Thank you to the gentle and patient Jingshan and the smart and mild Malinois Laika for giving us such a wonderful experience.

This was a short journey spent with interesting souls. I think it's a hike worth experiencing for both kids and adults. Spending more time with these vibrant people who love life itself gives us a lot to think about—not preaching, but an attitude. The kids had fun and felt truly relaxed, which came from this environment. I hope it gets better and better. Although it was only half a day, the memory is still fresh. The kids kept talking about it long after, showing that this was an experience unlike any other. Thank you for giving us such a memory.
