Summer has arrived, and it's the season for hiking along mountain streams. This is one of the most beautiful streams on Cangshan. The creek flows gently through the canyon, with waterfalls, a single-log bridge crossing the shallow stream, and large rocks for climbing. It's suitable for children aged 6 and above who enjoy climbing and wading. The scenery is stunning, both exciting and safe.
For children under 6, we offer a gentler stream hiking route.

The stream trekking was arranged for my son, who has always wanted to pick up stones in the creek. Our guide DD is quite a character—he lives in a self-converted van with his dog, a mobile home, very California, a free spirit. He's also a big kid with great patience for children. We followed what seemed like the wildest path to a secret stream spot. Along the way, he explained the plants, insects, and stones we encountered (which was right up my son's alley). I learned that DD also loves stones, so my son finally found someone to talk to! The sun wasn't strong that day, and the stream water was cold, so we couldn't jump in, but the clear water lifted our spirits. The small waterfall at the end made for great photos.

Third time in Dali, but this trip unlocked many first-time experiences, all with Cangshan Hiking Home, every single one was 100%!
First time stream trekking: Taoxi, the water was clear and clean, the scenery along the bank was pleasant, the route had a bit of a slope. Our friends splashed each other, adding a lot of fun to the stream trekking. Upon reaching the destination, we were surprised to see the guides (Xiao Li and Shi Tou) had prepared fresh fruits, various snacks, hot tea, and iced beer. Truly treasure guides!!!

I have to give this place a huge thumbs up. The activities were well-organized and executed.
On the first morning, we went mushroom picking on Cangshan Mountain. Two young ladies led the group, providing attentive and thoughtful service, helping everyone find mushrooms, carrying our tea break in their baskets. Lunch at the farmhouse was fresh and served with warm hospitality.
In the afternoon, we joined the stream trekking activity, which my child had been looking forward to, and it did not disappoint. Several experienced young men took care of our group, young and old, from all directions. Climbing and stream trekking were super thrilling and fun. The afternoon tea prepared by our guide Xiao Li was amazing—watermelon soaked in mountain spring water, coffee, and tea were incredibly sweet and refreshing. What a fantastic day!
On the second afternoon, we went paddleboarding, also led by Xiao Li. Unfortunately, it rained, but setting up a tarp in the wild, listening to the rain, enjoying the lake view, drinking tea and coffee, and eating fruit and snacks had a unique charm. In the end, Xiao Li braved the rain to take us paddleboarding for a bit of fun. Since we couldn't complete the full paddleboarding experience due to the rain, the boss refunded the fee for that day. We were deeply touched.
Next time I go to Dali, I will definitely seek out Cangshan Hiking Home again.
