One day I drove to the pasture at the foot of that mountain. I never thought about how long I could stay, until I had to return to Dali and realized I could have stayed forever.

Activity content: From the moment we meet, we enter the herder life. We light a fire and cook meals in the pasture, then take a walk around the pasture after the meal. Before the afterglow, we prepare the bedtime fire ritual by collecting firewood. We go to bed early. In the morning, we drink a bowl of butter tea and then head to the forest behind the wooden cabin, where there is a forest, yaks, a stream, and we also have hammocks and tsampa.

This is something I picked up while playing in the mountains. I put it in my pocket and took it home with tsampa on my walk. I joked with my friend that I now look like a beautiful savage.
Every day when I go out, I greet the sheep. They are always by the roadside, or I have to pass through their pasture.
There is also a cow resting alone in the shade (this is a dzo suitable for living at the foot of the mountain, a hybrid of yak and cattle, whose meat is more tender than yak meat and better suited for high-altitude living than cattle).
During the afterglow, nearby yak bells ring as they return to their own pasture. I also need to prepare to light the fire.
Golden broom flowers in July; they can only be picked by ascending to 3600 meters altitude in August.
This is wild currant by the roadside in July. At this time, the taste is just right, sour with sweetness. Although not fully ripe, there are many sour wild fruits in high-altitude areas, such as sea buckthorn, raspberries, and small strawberries that are also a bit sour.
Cooking here has become a serious matter because there is no running water to wash, no vegetable washing basin, and we need to light a fire with firewood. But when we finish, the afterglow comes out, and in the yard, facing the mountain opposite, accompanied by the sound of yaks returning home.

Sometimes I also go to the neighbors to exchange items. I buy fruits or vegetables and exchange them for their butter and tea. They are my close sisters and often take me out to play (going to the village below to chat and sunbathe with other sisters).
