A rare rainy cycling experience, thank you for patiently waiting for us and accompanying us in the rain. The sky was gray, the sea was gray, but our mood was bright. The child laughed loudly the whole way, charging ahead against the raindrops, never stopping even in the heavy rain. Travel can be experienced in many ways. Yesterday I was still slaving away in the office in Chengdu, and today I returned to nature, feeling like my heart and lungs were purified. It was my first time cycling through wheat fields, first time cycling in the rain, taking shelter under a big tree, first time weaving through old villages, and cycling along Erhai Lake while chatting. I came to Dali over a decade ago, but only today did I feel I truly saw the real southwest Yunnan rooted in the soil. Now when I breathe, I can still smell the scent of green grass in my lungs. Not only was the scenery comfortable, but being with you was also comfortable. We walked and chatted, completely natural, talking about this and that, listening to you share many Bai ethnic customs, looking at old houses and interesting things. Before I knew it, we had cycled 10 kilometers. I really didn't feel the time fly by, and I didn't feel tired at all. When it ended, I was still in a daze. Today's surprise: exploring the village, fields, and Erhai Lake with guide Randy in the evening. Avoiding the crowds, we wandered through alleys where locals live, with weeds, horse manure, and all sorts of mini-lectures along the way—authentic and fun. This was Yueyue's first time riding a bike outside the yard. The most relaxed one was Xiaobai, who was carried by Randy the whole way. The most impressive was me, cycling over ten kilometers in flip-flops.
Booked the Xizhou countryside cycling tour, a fantastic experience! Countryside, Erhai Lake, small temples... The route designed by the shop allowed us to avoid the overcrowded, highly homogenized ancient town commercial models during peak season, offering a glimpse into the real life of Dali. The cycling guide was very patient, which was a great help for young children riding on the road. Looking forward to experiencing longer routes that delve deeper into local Dali life in the future.
