Spending time with Lizy was one of the best things that we did in China. Being able to speak English with a Chinese person and interact with a local made all the diference! We met her at a farm, where we had tea and some snacks - including her parents delicious homemade green beans. We harvested some vegetables for dinner, and then she took us to the local market with her cool car :) We arrived home, she prepared us a delicious and fresh dinner, which was one of the best meals that we had in China. We also had some local beers, and talked a lot about chinese culture. Lizy is careful and such a nice person! We absolutely love this experience! All the time we had company from Lucky, her dog, so cute!

16Organic farm fruit and vegetable picking, family cooking and seasoning I love this unexpected encounter that made us intersect here from different life trajectories. #It must be a special fate#Just meeting is beautiful
I absolutely love the activities of Cangshan Hiking Home (I was so excited that I even made typos in my WeChat Moments). Every time I'm very happy. On the first day after arriving, I joined Honghong's farm picking activity and had a wonderful meal at her place to start my Dali trip. I went to Honghong's activity last year, which was also my first time participating in a Cangshan Hiking Home activity. That time I was the only participant. Honghong drove her little white car with Lucky, carrying a bamboo basket. We got rained on, took photos, went back to cook (the food was incredibly delicious: pea shoot meatball soup, grilled stuffed tofu...), visited her house... It was a fulfilling day, and I fell in love with her cool, optimistic, disciplined, and interesting personality. This time, the activity achieved full participation from organic farm to table. Our group of girls, along with a caring aunt and the lovely Maomao, chatted while walking and eating, feeling so relaxed and comfortable. If you're reading this, you must come and experience this activity that takes eating to the extreme. Honghong can actually pair and plate all the ingredients into delicious dishes—amazing! We were also lucky to enjoy many goodies that Honghong and Hudie had prepared in advance! I had three bowls of that mushroom chicken soup! I want to eat it again next time! Looking back, I met wonderful guides and companions, all full of sincerity and kindness. Every activity is satisfying. I hope you can come and meet these dedicated guides, experience Dali from their perspectives, hear their Dali stories, and create your own Dali memories. Dali is a hospital for the soul, and the guides of Cangshan Hiking Home are great psychologists. Thank you, Honghong and Lucky. I'm very happy today and feel blessed. The experience was superb! For the first time in four or five days, I finally felt sleepy. Eating well and sleeping well, my face isn't swollen, so I can take good photos.
Cooking at home with Honghong was so much fun, a great experience. This activity let us enjoy the joy of picking fresh ingredients ourselves, and the dishes we made were especially delicious. It's really worth recommending to everyone.
Honghong was amazing. She brought us a rich afternoon tea, and we picked vegetables and cooked together. She also took beautiful photos of us~ It was really great, we had a wonderful time.
The farm and Honghong's home are poetry and distance. Fresh farm vegetables, flocks of sheep and ducks, a cute little dog as company, and the layered Cangshan Mountains in the distance. A particularly idyllic pastoral scene. Honghong's apartment is even more beautiful. When the mountain cherry blossoms bloom, it's breathtakingly gorgeous. Today, Honghong's duck soup was especially delicious, and the pea cakes were fragrant. From farm to mouth in less than two hours. With friends, good wine, and good food, what more could one ask for 🍻
Honghong's cooking is really delicious, better than many restaurants in Dali. Being able to pick fresh ingredients on the farm and then cook them makes the dishes even more tender and tasty. The experience is great, and I highly recommend this activity: After picking on the farm, take your harvest to the local village market, then go to Honghong's to cook dinner together. The cherry blossoms outside the window are blooming recently.
Wearing clothes I tie-dyed myself to pick vegetables in the field, then using the vegetables I picked to cook a meal—that feeling is pretty awesome. Honghong's cooking makes me really want to be her neighbor.
Making coffee with the RV's coffee machine and sharing it with the picking buddies was a happy thing~~~
Honghong took us to a small, friendly and lovely farm for picking. The common vegetables were all planted in raised beds. Honghong pinched some lemon mint and rosemary to make herbal tea for the kids. Immediately added mint to our family's planting list.
Had a pleasant picking experience in Dali, especially the pea shoots were almost stripped bare by us. The freshly picked spinach, cabbage, pea shoots, white radish, fava beans, and greens were perfectly cooked into dishes by the host. The various herbs from the farm: rosemary, thyme, mint, cauliflower were added to black tea to make herbal tea, so healing.
Yesterday, we celebrated the Lantern Festival early with Honghong's new local activity. First, we went to the farm to pick vegetables, then Honghong cooked us a big feast with the freshly picked vegetables. An extra experience was using herbs from the farm with Pu'er liquor brewed by Honghong to make a local-style gin cocktail. Another extra experience was a small family sing-along session by Jacky and Fandi from the UK.
This day felt like the meaning of travel was made tangible. Girls from all over sat together to prepare a beautiful meal. No pressure, no worries. The empathy and emotional support from the girls were overflowing. Thanks to the chef of the beautiful meal, the freedom-loving Keke, the life-recording Huahua, and the 'helpful' Doudou.
Hope to meet everyone again in other beautiful places around the world. In the morning, we leisurely checked the cherry blossoms at 20% bloom. Then the host led us to the farm for picking, went to the market to buy groceries, and went home together to cook a sumptuous dinner. The host's superb cooking skills, the moment the sunset dyed the clouds pink, and the pictures that couldn't fit were flashed through. The world-exploring Keke, the super cute Doudou, the beautiful Blaire, the well-behaved Naizha, Gou Le, Huihui.
Full of experience, from the farm to cooking, we were quite involved without feeling too tired. Hong Hong's recipe was also great! While experiencing, we also learned about local culture. Love it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Had a great time with Hong Hong and spent a wonderful Lantern Festival!
Through a home-cooked meal, we got to know everyone and the adorable Lucky. A very special and joyful Valentine's Day! 💌 Picking vegetables at the farm 🥗, the lemon mint smelled so good, all naturally grown by the garden owner. Plus, host Honghong's superb cooking skills made it absolutely delicious 🍴 Today, I personally experienced the warm and cozy Dali Honghong-exclusive cabin. The decor was so charming—it's my ideal retirement cabin 🛖. It further solidified my plan to come to Dali for a slow retirement life at 60. Through a home-cooked meal, we got to know everyone and the adorable Lucky. It's amazing how we chatted so happily at the table!! We also had an incredibly delicious cake 🍰. My favorite was the Valentine's Day special—so tasty 😋. I'm really looking forward to our next meeting. And most importantly, I visited the God of Wealth Temple on Valentine's Day 💰. It would be unreasonable for me not to get rich now 🫵
