Huanxi Coffee's Sister Eleven | Green Plum & Honey
On the 7th day in the village, the sky was brilliantly clear. I saw that this year's green plum season was coming to an end, so let's go check out the place where green plums are produced—Songhe Village in Eryuan. Fresh honey, freshly picked green plums, homemade green plum wine, and the farm uncle's cured meat claypot rice—spending a simple and peaceful day surrounded by mountains.

You are truly special
On the 7th day in the village
The sky was brilliantly clear
I saw that the green plum season is about to end
So let's go check out the place where green plums are produced
The nearest production area here is Songhe Village in Eryuan
The local specialty preserved fruit "carved plum" also comes from here
It had been raining for several days
I wondered if it would be muddy and inconvenient to go into the mountains
But unexpectedly the weather was great
Because it was sunny
The farmer uncle cut fresh honey for us to taste
We were so lucky
The taste of fresh honey is wonderful
Different from the flavor from regular beehives
Driving from Dali into the mountains of Eryuan
The temperature immediately felt several degrees cooler
And the mountains were full of green
Which made one rejoice
First we went to a homemade preserved fruit workshop halfway up the mountain
We saw carved plums being made on-site
They were quite fresh
Continuing up the mountain to the green plum farm
The team leader Xiao Li first let us taste several kinds of green plum wine they made last year
So we could confirm our preferred flavors
After confirming our favorite tastes
We started picking green plums
After picking, we officially entered the green plum wine making process
First washing and then air-drying naturally
During the drying break
Another team leader, Shi Tou, made claypot rice for us
Using the farm big brother's cured meat and cured sausage
With the carved plums from the farm
The combination in this claypot rice surprised me
Shi Tou modestly said
With limited ingredients and equipment on the mountain
He could only make claypot rice
It was convenient and filling
Couldn't let everyone go hungry on the mountain
I don't know if it was because of the surrounding mountains
Or because of the hard work we just did
But this "farmhouse" claypot rice was extremely delicious
The combination of cured meat, cured sausage, and carved plums
Was unexpectedly fresh and not greasy
I devoured two bowls
Hahaha
After lunch
The air-dried green plums were naturally dried
We successfully completed the green plum wine making following the steps
I also asked the team leader if we could add some fresh raw honey
The team leader said he was curious too
And let me try
So
A self-created green plum honey wine
Came into being
Thinking that with the multifloral honey from Songhe Village
The wine should be more fragrant and mellow
I was very confident
Sealed the jar and waited for its wonderful taste
Cheers
🍻
I like going to niche mountain villages
Because there is no hustle and bustle
Only simple peace
Like this green plum wine
Clear, sweet, with endless aftertaste
Songhe Village
I think I will come again if I have the chance
