Yushan Bakery opened near Dali University in 2017, when there were not many shops in that area, and not many making European-style bread. Apart from the bread being popular with local residents, a major feature of this shop at that time was that customers would take the bread themselves and pay according to the price. The owner was sometimes busy inside, and sometimes no one was in the shop. It was not a gimmick, but a trust among the community, and it also simplified staffing.
I don't know the owner, but I have been there a few times. Because of the affordable prices and good taste, it is loved by community members, so although low-key, it has been running well. There is a kind of resilience of 'always being there.'
In addition to bread, croissants, bagels, etc., the shop also offers self-serve coffee at 8 yuan per cup. There are seats at the entrance. It is a small unremarkable shop, but it has its own character and the strength to stand the test of time.
