At the intersection of Huguo Road and Guangwu Road
Midnight Diner is the first small shop I opened in Dali, and it operated until 2022. It was run by the fifth store manager, Han Han, and his friend. Many of the current team leaders were former store managers and staff there (Xiao Chun, Tailor, and He Chen, Xiao Xi, Shi Tou, and Hong Hong), and we share many wonderful memories. It is open until 4 a.m. It is a place to go when you want to eat something quietly and chat late at night. Whether it's the main dish braised pork rice, beef brisket noodles, or light snacks like French toast, fermented rice balls, steamed egg custard, or drinks like Thai milk tea and coffee, everything is available.
Recommendations: Braised pork rice, garlic-flavored fried chicken (marinated in-house), braised beef brisket noodles, garlic pasta.
Several hiking guests have eaten there and said it was good; some even didn't know the connection to us and thought it was especially good. However, overall it's a simple restaurant, not a specialty restaurant, with a flavor leaning toward Jiangnan (Jiangsu-Zhejiang) style.
If you live in the Xiaoyuanzi South Area, you can go to Dali Midnight Diner (Xiaoyuanzi South Area Branch). Shi Tou runs it there. For a while, I often went there at night. It has a very old-school community shop style, which I like very much; there's even a mahjong table.
