For specific dishes and prices, you can visit her WeChat mini program: Chinchin Bistro Canteen. The owner, Joy, is from Sichuan, and the overall flavor is fusion. The atmosphere is cozy, with a wide selection of wines at reasonable prices. Our guests Charcy and Alu particularly love her unique wines that are hard to find elsewhere, so they go often. The customers are mostly regulars who live in Dali; every time you go, you run into familiar faces. Joy studied wine in France. Suitable for dining alone or with a few friends.
I really like Joy's tender tofu with fish meat sauce; it's delicious with rice, and I've gone alone several times just for this dish. Luo Qi says you must try the desserts and chocolate (many of the photos in the introduction are from him), while Xiao Jing prefers Joy's pasta.
Now Chinchin has evolved from a restaurant into a special community space, driven by Joy's own enthusiasm, because there is a jazz performance every Friday, which is a night many people look forward to. Joy is a member of the band and has invested great passion and made modifications to the venue specifically for jazz performances, even reducing some dining seats for this purpose. It has become a major community activity. Participants come from various countries and ethnicities, making it very diverse.
If you happen to visit Dali and love jazz, and enjoy this sense of community, the collaboration among people and being immersed in it, then the daily jazz performances (which changed from every Friday to every day) are well worth experiencing. Remember, as a restaurant on regular days, it is also a very special choice, mostly with only community guests, quiet and comfortable.
